My Journey in Education

My name is Placido and I am the person behind Fareham Spanish; a small and local Spanish school that offers online tuition and face to face lessons for all levels and needs

I lived in a city half way between Córdoba and Sevilla for 23 years before moving to England in 2013. Can you guess my age?

I am a qualified Primary age teacher who moved to the UK 10 years ago to gain more experience in SEN. Since 2015 I´ve been a private tutor for young and adults alike as well as GCSE and A levels.

Three of my students have achieved grades 9s in Higher Tier Spanish which I am extremely proud off. My motto is "it is never too late to learn" and my mission is to offer students small group lessons at a competitive rate.

Can you imagine yourself speaking in Spanish, ordering drinks/food or even having a small conversation with the locals? It will be a pleasure to teach you.

The rest of the team

My name is María and I am from Andalucia in Spain. I have been living in UK for more than 10 years and have lots of experience teaching Spanish to people from all levels. I got my certificate in Spanish Language Teaching to Adults at the Instituto Cervantes in London and became an official DELE examiner. I have been teaching for several years in London in schools such as Battersea Spanish and the Instituto Cervantes, as well as private lessons, offering in person and online classes and teaching both groups and one to one lessons. I love teaching and find it so gratifying to see my students progress and to witness how they achieve their goals, for example giving a speech in Spanish for a wedding, moving to Spain, getting a job or being able to communicate with their partners families or pass an exam... It makes me feel so proud!

My lessons are entertaining and dynamic. I am very patient and make sure to create a comfortable atmosphere for my students to feel confident while practicing in class. I adapt my lessons to my students needs and interests and use different materials based on their objectives.

My name is Natalia. I’m originally from Gran Canaria, Spain and we moved to the UK 7 years ago, first we lived in London and now we are in Portsmouth.

I have been teaching at Fareham Spanish for a year now. I have had the joy to teach two groups so far and it is such a rewarding job at the end of the day.

In my spare time I love to paint, watch Tarantino’s movies and love music too.

I am patient, generous, friendly and an honest person.

Hi! My name is Laura. I'm from Madrid (Spain) and I'm currently living in the UK. Thanks to my university degrees I'm a teacher of Infant and Primary Education and Spanish as a foreign language.

I'm currently volunteering at this school. This educational experience is a great opportunity for my professional future and helps me to get to know new cultures, which is something I've always loved.

In my free time I like listening to music, cooking but above all traveling to get to know new corners of the world.

I absolutely love learning Spanish at Fareham Spanish Academy! The classes are fun and effective, and I have seen great results in my language skills.
